JCK Las Vegas 2016: 5 Biggest Jewelry Trends

TrueFacet Holiday Shops Sale

Outside of the jewelry industry, not many know of JCK Las Vegas. However, the annual, four-day trade show is one of the most important jewelry showcases in North America. At the event, jewelry designers and retailers share the latest in jewelry trends and innovations throughout the industry.

The latest in jewelry trends is showcased by the most influential and creative designs in the world, granting firsthand knowledge of what’s hot and what’s up-and-coming in the jewelry world. We saw this as the perfect opportunity to use social media to spot the trends of the massive trade show. Check out the biggest trends from the show, taken firsthand by top bloggers in the jewelry space.

1. Opal

You couldn’t walk the floor without being captivated by opal’s gorgeous play of color. This photo by @LuxuryJewelleryEvents perfectly captured the stunning properties of both opal and diamonds in this Davani piece.

2. Alternative Bridal Jewelry

Bridal trends veered from the traditional, meaning 2016 has an abundance of options for the alternative bride. We saw colored gemstones in place of engagement rings diamonds. Rose gold is trending stronger than ever, mixed with white gold or yellow gold bands. Intricate bands and detailed halos rocked the show. This snap from @DiamondsintheLibrary captures the departure from the solitaire diamond and prong setting with rings from The Sylvie Collection.

3. Colored Stones

Large, bold, colorful and bright gemstones were everywhere from bridal jewelry to massive cocktails rings. The multicolored and multifaceted looks was a favorite and perfect for the summer season. Jane Taylor Jewelry, featured in this post from @GemGossip, perfected modern and traditional gemstone looks in colorful combinations.

4. Statement Earrings

The most renowned fashion designers have been heavily featuring statement earrings in every runway show since the Fall season and this trend isn’t letting up. Now, the jewelry designers have had their time to upgrade this bold look to new heights — and lengths. Another snap from @JaneTaylorJewelry is one example of this look that we loved.

5. Geometric Shapes

Geometric statement pieces are a versatile look for jewelry lovers of the new and old. At JCK we found modern and minimalist geometric pieces like these Doryn Wallach Jewelry bracelets snapped @JewelersofAmerica , along with updated takes on the classic and angular art deco period.

6. Coin and Medallion Jewelry

Roman coins and golden medallions relaxed the showroom for updates on an ancient classic. We loved this romantic take on coin jewelry from Erica Courtney jewels, styled and snapped by @Gemologue.
