4 Things to Know Before Buying Luxury Jewelry Online

Chances are good that you do a majority of your shopping online now. You already bought a few things over the internet before the Coronavirus Pandemic, and now you’re used to buying everything from groceries to new release movies online too! What about luxury jewelry, though? Have you considered buying new jewelry over the internet as well? If so, you probably have quite a few questions and concerns. We’re here to answer it all!

Here are our four pieces of expert advice when shopping online for luxury jewelry:

Tip #1 Buy with confidence

More than likely, what you are most concerned with when shopping online is being scammed or ripped off. We understand this! When you shop with TrueFacet, you never have to question the authenticity. That’s because we have an Authenticity Promise! We understand that the decision to purchase online can feel risky. You need to have comfort that you are getting fair value for your money. TrueFacet therefore promises that if you are not fully satisfied with the authenticity of your purchase, we will help you and work with the seller of the item to accept a return of the item and refund your money back.

Tip #2 Look for the warranty

A warranty means your seller stands behind their product. It means if something is wrong with the item, you’re aren’t out of luck and out of money. As a simple example, we offer a two year warranty on “Never Worn” watches and one year on “Pre-Owned” watches. With a warranty like this, you can feel confident clicking on the “Add to Cart” button.

Tip #3 Don’t forget about security

When shopping for luxury items online, you need security both as you are making the actual purchase as well as when the item is being shipped to you. The last thing you want is for your credit card information to be stolen or for the package to be robbed on its route to you. All TrueFacet transactions are secure and confidential. Once you decide to buy it, your package is insured and protected for delivery.

Tip #4 Be sure to look at the size

One huge difference between buying online and shopping in person is that you may not realize the size of the item. This applies in two ways. Rings come in sizes according to the finger. If you find a ring you love and don’t realize it’s far too small, you’ll be disappointed and never able to wear it. If it’s too large, you could lose it when it slips right off! What about other items, like earrings? For these jewelry items, you’ll want to know the literal size of the item. Are the hoops small or quite large? Don’t assume you can guess from the image. Read the description!

TrueFacet is the modern alternative for buying jewelry and watches. We are an online marketplace rooted in trust and transparency. If you have further questions, we’re here to discuss them with you. You can reach us by either calling 1-800-690-3736 or emailing support@truefacet.com

How to Choose Earrings for Your Face Shape

Earrings are a great way to make a statement and draw attention to your facial features. To make sure you pick the right pair of earrings, you must consider your face shape before making any purchases. Here is a guide to help you find the best earrings for your face shape.

Round Face Shape

People with a circular face shape have few sharp lines or angles on their chin and cheeks. Round cheeks give your face a wide, circular shape. So, what shape of earrings are best for a round face?

For example, long dangly earrings will draw attention away from the width of the cheeks towards the length of the face instead. You can also try hoop or drop earrings, as they add height and length. Avoid studs or hoops that are too small, as these can make your face look wider than it is.

Oval Face Shape

An oval face shape is rounded but slightly longer than a round face shape. If you have an oval face, you have great cheekbones. Thanks to these high cheekbones, you can wear any type of earrings! Hoops, studs, or triangle-shaped are some of the best earrings for an oval face.

But if you want some extra oomph in style, opt for chandelier or drop-style earrings, as these will add length and bring out your cheekbones. As far as studs go, larger sizes are more flattering than smaller sizes for this particular face shape.

Triangle Face Shape

An inverted triangle face has a wider forehead than the chin and is often quite angular. Triangle-shaped faces should opt for hoops or teardrop-style earrings that balance their jawline and forehead area by drawing attention away from their chin area upwards towards their eyes and forehead region.

Studs are also great for triangle-shaped faces, but avoid overly large hoops, which can make the chin appear even wider than it is.

Diamond Face Shape

Diamond faces are characterized by the eyes being the widest part of the face.

These types of faces should look for chandeliers or dangle earrings that draw attention away from their pointed chin area up towards their eyes and forehead region to create a balance between the two areas of their faces. Avoid small studs or hoops, making diamond-faced individuals look too angular and harsh around their jawline area.

Square Face Shape

A square face is symmetrical all-around but has a boxier shape rather than circular. Square-faced individuals should opt for rounder styles, such as hoop or drop earrings, to soften the sharp edges around their jawline while emphasizing their overall facial structure with added volume around the ears.

Smaller studs may be okay too, depending on personal preference but stay clear of large hoppy styles, which can overpower square-faced individuals’ overall appearance.

Heart Face Shape

A heart-shaped face is characterized by the fact that as you move down, your face gradually narrows. Because of the contrast between a wider forehead and a smaller chin, the perfect earrings for heart-shaped faces are those with dangly styles such as teardrop shapes. These earrings add more volume around the chin area while still bringing out attractive facial features like high cheekbones with their dangling effect near them when worn correctly.

Smaller studs aren’t recommended because they can emphasize heart-shaped faces’ thinness near the chin region–instead, opt for rounder shapes like the drops mentioned earlier!

Statement Earrings

When you’re on video conferencing calls, everyone can see your face- first and foremost. Earrings are a simple but effective way to ensure that your fashion choices get noticed online. Add some flare to your work-from-home look with a pair of gorgeous Platinum and Diamond Tiffany & Co. Legacy Drop Earrings or a pair of classic David Yurman Diamond Pearl Sterling Silver Cable Round Stud Earrings.

Bold Necklaces

Next on our list is your neck! If you back up from the screen enough, your neck and top of your chest is clearly visible, which makes a luxury necklace a wonderful addition to your ensemble. Although we have dozens of fabulous options, the Gucci Icon Twirl Necklace 18K White Gold With Diamonds is one of our favorites. If you want to really wow during your presentation, we recommend a bold style like the Vintage Judith Ripka Diamond Saltwater Pearls 18k White Gold Choker Necklace

Dainty Rings

If you speak and gesture with your hands, you have the perfect opportunity to show off a new luxury brand name ring or two. You simply cannot go wrong with the Authentic Cartier Trinity Ring or Authentic Tiffany & Co. Milgrain Band Ring in Yellow Gold and Platinum. If you’re looking for a little more bling, consider the .90ct Sapphire Diamond Cluster Platinum Cocktail Ring. This white gold and platinum ring features a pear shaped sapphire set center stage with a heart shaped bezel surrounding the sapphire with tapered baguette diamonds. It finishes with an outer heart shape of prong set round brilliant cut diamonds. Your audience or team members are sure to take notice of that massive sapphire waving around on your finger!

TrueFacet promises authenticity of our products, so you can shop with confidence. We’re sure that when you shop our online jewelry collection, you’ll find something you’re excited to add to your jewelry collection. On your next Zoom call, you’ll look fabulous!

6 watches worn by the world’s best sports stars

Sports aren’t generally associated with watches. But for some reason, world-class athletes have been rocking extravagant timepieces on the field. It seems to be a tool of the trade at this point – sturdy, heavy watches that can withstand anything from golf to contact-heavy sports.

We love sports stars and the watches they wear. Here are 6 watches worn by the world’s top sports stars.

David Beckham – TUDOR Black Bay Chrono

Soccer’s favorite heartthrob always wears a killer smile and his trusty TUDOR Black Bay Chrono in steel, or his 43mm Black Bay Bronze. The Black Bay Chrono, with contrasting sub-counters, is versatile and manly and encapsulates confidence and style without being too loud. Sticking to TUDOR classics, the global style icon is often seen wearing these sports-chic timepieces as he goes about his philanthropic activities or celebrity appearances. They say a watch makes a man, so if you want to bend it like Beckham, check out the Tudor Black Bay Chrono.

Tiger Woods – Rolex Deepsea

One of golf’s biggest names, Tiger Woods, is accompanied by a Rolex Deepsea on the driving range and off on other adventures. Other than playing golf, the Rolex ambassador spends his time being a father and taking part in his favorite pastime – diving. The Deepsea makes for a sturdy and reliable companion to take along in or out of the water and has been “part of wins, losses, and adventures,” according to Woods. Whether you’re a fan of golf, Tiger Woods is a household name with impeccable style. The Rolex Deepsea is available on Truefacet.

Conor Mcgregor – Jacob & Co Astronomia Tourbillon Baguette

The MMA fighter made headlines when he dropped a million dollars on a watch from Manhattan-based Jacob & Co. The gold watch is covered by a spherical diamond that “reflects every ray of incoming light, illuminating the night sky throughout its 60-second rotation around an independent axis”, as described by the jewelry and wristwatch maker. The Astronomia Tourbillon Baguette is truly a sight to behold and comes with a hefty price tag that can only be justified if you’re a world-famous MMA star. Jacob & Co has a few timepieces that are equally as stunning and comes with a price tag that makes a little more sense. This whimsical Jacob & Co Five Time Zone JC-9 is total arm candy while the sensible Jacob & Co Palatial is a great starter watch.

Odell Beckham Jr – Richard Mille 11-03

Odell Beckham Jr’s Richard Mille 11-03 is a watch designed for Formula 1 racing, but that didn’t stop him from taking the spotlight with this extravagant timepiece in the 2019 game against the Tennessee Titans. This caused a bit of a stir among spectators and the NFL, who pointed out that there was a rule against wearing hard objects on the field. This didn’t faze the world-class athlete though. OBJ pointed out that he wore his RM 11 everywhere, even in the shower, and he wasn’t planning to stop. Ironically, this ‘hard object’ probably cushioned some of the blow from the loss to the Tennessee Titans, but who could resist talking about the bright orange beauty? On another note, the Richard Mille RM 011 is definitely a head turner and a great investment piece for collectors, minus the controversy.

Serena Williams – Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore

Former World No.1 tennis player, and arguably the greatest player of all time, Serena Williams is a connoisseur, and she knows it. The sports star rocked a blitzed-out Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore for the better part of 2019. This shiny companion was there on the court and saw Williams through her countless victories. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore is available without the bling, or if you want to emulate Williams, with a diamond-encrusted bezel. Because it’s going big, or go home.

Cristiano Ronaldo – Rolex Daytona

The Portuguese football player is known for over 700 goals in his career and his lavish lifestyle. Of course, he wouldn’t be complete without the right watch, or watches. Among his luxurious collection is an 18k yellow gold Rolex Daytona with, get this, diamond hour markers. The Rolex Daytona is one of the brand’s more popular models and is a pretty sight on the wrist. Most of them do great in the resale market too, like most Rolex timepieces. So if you’re looking for a good investment, why not look for one that makes you feel like a football star?

Throughout the years, sports stars have worn carefully chosen eye-catching wristwatches to accompany them through victories, and some losses. If you want to see more, TrueFacet has a collection of models worn by athletes, and more.

Guide for Buying a Pre-Owned Prada

You’ll walk just a bit straighter and stand with your head just a bit higher when you have one of these babies on your shoulder. A Prada handbag is what many women dream of and buying one is the ultimate shopping experience.

However, that experience can quickly turn into a huge disappointment if the Prada handbag you buy turns out to be a fake. Make sure that doesn’t happen to you by always buying high-end handbags from a reputable source.

Plus, check out these tips on what to watch out for to ensure that your new Prada handbag is the real deal.

The Prada Logo

In an attempt to trip up counterfeiters, Prada makes their logo with some distinct things to watch for. The logo at first seems pretty straightforward. It consists of the words Prada, Milano, and a couple of emblems below that descend down in a triangular shape. The triangle may be stitched onto the bag like this one or have the logo printed directly onto the material like this one.

However, only a particularly perceptive eye will notice a couple of small things with the word “Prada”. First, the right leg of the “R” extends outward at an angle rather than straight down as would normally be expected with the font used. This leads to a slight gap between the “R” and the “A” to make room. That leg is also attached to the rest of the letter with a hinged, notched-out space. Finally, the right leg of the “A” extends over the left leg on top. If any of these tiny details are missing, the bag is fake.

Furthermore, check all the Prada logos both printed and engraved, not just the main one on the bag. Clever counterfeiters might make sure the main logo is correct, but count on you to overlook the other ones.

Dust Bag and Authenticity Card

Most, though not all, new Prada bags come with a dust bag. This bag is usually flannel or silky and should also sport a correct Prada logo.

All bags will come with an authenticity card. This card should be sealed, indicate the bag’s serial number and style information, and come tucked in a black envelope with the Prada logo on it. Care booklets are also included so consumers know how to best care for their classy new purchase.

Counterfeiters may also include these items so check them over carefully. Authentic cards will have flawless, perfectly straight fonts with accurate spacing.

Interior Plaque

All authentic Prada bags will also have an interior plaque. Older bags will have the words “Prada Milano Made in Italy” listed on three lines. Newer bags feature a shortened version that says “Prada Made in Italy” listed on only two lines. Regardless, the word Prada should still match the details we’ve already discussed.

Hardware

Take a close look at the zippers and other hardware. Counterfeiters will sometimes use lower-quality materials to save money on the hardware. These will discolor over time or feel cheap and flimsy to the touch.

Prada also engraves their name on the buckles, zippers, locks, buttons, and metal feet. Again, it should be engraved correctly with the font properly spaced. Furthermore, Prada only uses zippers from Ykk, Lampo, Opti, Riri, and Ipi and these brand names will be engraved somewhere on the back of the hardware.

Luxurious Leather

The look of the exterior of a Prada bag can vary significantly. For example, this two-color blue tote looks quite different from this fashionable fanny pack.

However, one thing should always be clear — the leather should feel luxurious. The high-quality calf leather used to make these bags is soft and supple to the touch. Fake leather and lower-quality leather can mimic this appearance from afar, but can never fully replicate the luxurious feel.

Primed for a Prada?

If you’re ready for a pre-owned Prada — whether your first or fifteenth — the number one way to ensure you get an authentic one is to purchase from a reputable seller. On our marketplace, we offer an authenticity promise so our customers can always feel confident they are getting the product they expect.

Are Rolex Watches a Good Investment? Beginner’s Guide to Rolex Investment

When someone mentions watches, what are the brands that come to mind? In the world of Haute horology, Rolex is one of the most recognized luxury watch brands. From connoisseurs to newbies, they’re a symbol of style, success, and status. Rolex watches are more than just fashion pieces, and buying a Rolex watch is more than just casual retail therapy. Being the most famous watch brand there is, Rolex comes with a pretty hefty price tag, not just in stores but in the resale market, making them one of the best watches to invest in.

It is still important to note, however, that not all watches are created equal. While the prestige of the brand name and the quality that comes along with it contribute to its value, collectors play a part in picking the right model and maintenance to preserve its value as an investment piece.

In this article, we provide a guide to getting the best value out of your Rolex investment.

What makes a watch valuable?

Rarity

Considering that the average Rolex watch is already as coveted as it is, rare Rolex watches seem to have a multiplier value due to scarcity. In most cases, rare models can hold their value much better than the popular ones.

For one thing, putting a limited edition label means that not just anyone can get their hands on it. This is one of the reasons why rare editions go against the grain to appreciate even after ownership.

Similarly, watches that are in high demand are also considered to be rare and prized possessions, rising in value in the resale market. Collectors are willing to pay top dollar for rare watches, especially one from a brand name of such prestige, which is what makes a rare Rolex timepiece a great investment.

When it comes to rare Rolex pieces that have superseded in value, a Rolex Daytona owned by American actor and philanthropist Paul Newman comes to mind. In 2017, the watch sold for a whopping USD 17.7 million to watch collector James Cox at an auction. Just three years later, another engraved Rolex Daytona from Paul Newman’s collection sold for USD 5 million. With a combination of exotic features that were not initially designed for the Daytona, along with the personal touch from the late actor, these watches rose to become highly coveted in the watch industry, justifying the high prices.

The concept of rarity can also be applied to vintage Rolex watches. The lifespan of the brand dates back to 1905, which means that there is a good range of models that are no longer in production today.  Vintage Rolexes have seen steady growth in value in recent years, as collectors desire a piece of the fascinating history in the mechanical watch industry.

There are, of course, factors that can affect the value of a vintage Rolex. For instance, over time, there can be signs of wear and tear, or replacement of parts, that can significantly affect the sale price. That being said, while modern Rolex watches manage to hold their value quite well, a well-preserved vintage timepiece is probably a guarantee for any investor. In some cases, the watch owners do not even know what they are. Just last year, a US Air Force veteran found out that his 1971 Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Oyster purchased over four decades ago is well worth over $700,000 today.

Model

Besides exclusivity, another good indicator of a watch’s potential as an investment piece is the model. Generally, sports watches are highly sought after in Haute horology, and Rolex is no different. If you take a look at the most popular models in Rolex’s product line, you’ll find that models such as the Datejust, Submariner, GMT Master II, and Daytona do quite well. Due to the high demand and general elegance of these timepieces, they pretty much dominate the resale space.

To take it one step further, Rolex often releases one-off editions and limited production pieces that skyrocket over time. Celebrity ownership can also contribute to the value of a certain model. For example, some of the most well-known figures that have donned classic Rolex watches are Warren Buffet and John F. Kennedy, with the Day-Date, and Jay-Z and Paul Newman with the Daytona. The Submariner, made famous by James Bond movies, is also one of the brand’s most popular models today.

Rolex Investment: Where to begin?

While Rolex investment holds immense potential, it is also important not to dive in head-first without proper research. There are ways to increase your chances of success, such as keeping your watches in pristine condition and buying from authorized dealers.

If you are looking for a good place to start, TrueFacet has an extensive range of Rolex watches just for you.
